Common questions from housing societies
Can a housing society make driver verification mandatory?
Yes. Many RWAs include driver vetting requirements in their by-laws or resident agreements. driverrating.in provides a template vetting policy you can adopt at your next AGM.
How do we empanel a driver agency for our society?
Shortlist 2–3 agencies from the driverrating.in Verified Partner list, interview them on their vetting process, check references from other societies, and negotiate a preferential rate for bulk assignments.
What should our society ask before permitting a driver entry?
Minimum: a valid DL (verify on Parivahan) and a Police Clearance Certificate. Best practice: require the employer (resident) to share a completed Driver Trust Score before granting gate access to a new driver.
How often should driver verification be renewed?
Annually is standard practice. DLs should be re-checked every 12 months, and police verification re-applied if the driver changes address or if there has been any incident report.
